The problem isn’t watching it on an app, the problem is many pbc fans didn’t want to throw in their lot with Eddie Hearn back in 2018 when he came as the representative for dazn. Had dazn presented itself with a different face, a more diplomatic face, a face that sought to bring everyone on bard rather than out pbc out of business while claiming the “American takeover”, I strongly believe boxing in the USA would look differently than it does now. Regarding Amazon, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have it and most of the people I know are 50-70 years of age and are American, British, Irish. I don’t know how this amazon deal will turn out, but it gives boxing a much larger reach than it had yesterday. Comparing Amazon to dazn is like comparing the the SAS to the Girl Scouts.
I hope PBC succeeds on Amazon. I get that they didn't want to throw their lot in with Eddie Hearn, but if I had a dollar for every time I heard a PBC fan complain about watching boxing on their phone, I'd be a rich man. I've had my computer hooked up to my big screen via HDMI for the last 15-20 years, so the argument about watching boxing on a phone always sounded like an old man yelling at clouds to me.

These PBC fighters are about to get a wake up call. Haymon blew through investors money for years but this deal looks to be more performance based i.e if guys want to get paid they will need to be more active and make fights people actually want to see vs a majority of stay busy fights.

Nice one. Prime is already the best value streaming service.

Not a fan of sports streaming but this was clearly the best potential landing spot for PBC. Hopefully Amazon demand the big fights get made.

Boxing just got more fractured - best won't be fighting the best - but for me, PBC on Amazon is better than PBC on Showtime - i wonder if any of the Showtime presenters and production crew will get jobs at Amazon - I imagine not which will be a shame for them

PBC doesn't have a particularly high standard: Ruiz vs Arreola/Ortiz, Martin/Ortiz, Wilder/Helenius, Thurman/Barrios, Benavidez/Andrade, etc. I'd like to assume that having a higher budget will decrease the overall number of PPVs, but we'll see.

Nearly all of those were Fox PPVs. They seemed to have little investment in the sport.

Don't worry, there is a reason Fox, Spike, and Showtime got rid of them. Overpaying boxers to figh tomato Cans. PBC needs other boxers who were made into Stars by other Promoters for their business to be successful example Ryan Garcia and Canelo created by GB. Terrrence Crawford created by Top Rank.

Hopefully they learn their lesson and actually put on competitive fights people want to see. No just stay busy fights.
