Comments Thread For: The Inoue Auditions

If the swirling rumors are true, 118 might actually get real hot again with Estrada and Nakatani both seemingly moving up early 2024. At first I thought 118 would become a boring barren wasteland after Inoue left, but now I think that a dominant guy just totally wiping out one division then vacating shortly afterwards is better overall for the division to shake up the actions than having one or two main faces just stay around for years holding all the belts hostage.
115 is/was a good division but it seems like the old guards were starting to become less active and/or having too many rematches that the majority of the faces hasn't changed much.to the point where the future stars are not bright enough yet. Nakatani was like the rare mid-20s guy to come up with a **** but due to weight issues leaving after a few matches, and Estrada is finally going up. Chocolatito already said next year will likely be his last year so I can see him going for a belt to retire a champion one last time (possibly against Cuadras who might get raised to full champion after Estrada leaves), and who knows how much longer Ioka fights. I hope Tanaka actually can get his 4th division and then stay for some unifications.
112 has the super juicy Bam vs Sunny next week, and whether the winner decides to move up or stay and try to become the first undisputed champion in 112 will also be interesting.Comment
