Prograis, you hold the dreams of many in your hands. You can gain at least a 100,000 fans by KO'ing Haney, hopefully viciously.
Do it for yourself. Do it for the fans who fall asleep every time Haney fights. Do it for the boxers who put on displays of power, courage and fearlessness, just to watch Haney call himself an all time great.
Haney will want to hug you, Regis. He will want to throw a jab and then hug you like a girl hugs her man. But you've got to back up an inch and throw that uppercut, along with some liver shots, everytime he tries that ****.

We are with you Regis.
LOL. I'm not really a Regis fan, and I was never a Haney hater. 1st time I remember seeing him was vs. Linares, and he looked like a spectacular boxer until he got rocked toward the end and held on for dear life. Then I saw his 2 Kambosos fights and the Lomachenko fight, and he's obviously a very skilled guy, but whatever it is now that irritates me about him, I'm not even quite sure, but he just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's the hugging, and the arrogant attitude, but I would like to see Regis, especially at his age now, blast this dude out and gain those 100K new fans as you described. HA.

I have to wholeheartedly agree with both you guys. Haney already thinks he's the best boxer since Mayweather. For me he has shown skill before but he hasn't looked impressive against the best competition he's fought thus far. He was lucky to get the belts against the one hit wonder Kambosos and all of a sudden he's #1 in the world in his mind. Confidence is a good think but Haney's is definitely misguided.

Same. I felt for a long time that he was a skilled guy who was doing it the right way, taking the B side to get his shot and defending his belt while he waited for the unification. Took the B side and bet on himself and earned the titles. But he knew he got lucky with the judges against Loma. He said it himself in the corner in round 9 "he knows everything I'm doing". Then he's been just arrogant after with zero interest in redeeming that controversy. I think he found out his level and he's trying to get as many big fights as he can before he gets cashed out.
If he can find his power at 140 I'll be more interested, but right now, his style and attitude are about as fan unfriendly as it gets. He's got the attitude and delusional dad like Teo, but without the flashy style and knockouts in the ring.
What is it with these 136/140 lb guys and being nuts?
Prograis fan, and I think he has technical skills that are being dismissed unfairly. Yes, Haney will likely win any fight that is all from the outside and about positioning. But Prograis has better movement and ring awareness than a ton of these articles are giving him. This sounds like he is a one trick pony and only has power. Not true. He is intelligent, and most of his KO's have come from figuring out what his in ring rival is doing and then dictating the pace and distance.
Overall, I get that Haney is favored. I just do not get why he is such a prohibitive favorite. .
