  • Comments Thread For: Regis Prograis: "There's No F------ Way I'm Not Sleeping Haney"

Devin Haney knew he was pushing his luck. For the newly turned 25-year-old, it felt as though his body was growing with each passing day. It seemed both logical and obvious that a move up in weight was his next step. However, Haney refused to do so before accomplishing his goals.

Huggy Bear been putting on weight. Expect a full Tyson Fury/Kronk effect here. I expect him to clinch and jab for 12 rounds.

I hope Regis is focused. Even though I don't think highly of Haney, his move, run, hold, jabbing his way to a decision can give you issues if you're not focused. Regis keeps talking about knocking his block off and if he's just focused on head hunting and trying to k.o Haney, Haney will win a decision. With Haney, you have to ruff him up, get inside, go to the body, hit his shoulder, arms anywhere you can hit him, if Regis wants to win, IMO he's going to have to put in the work first by going down stairs first, then go up. That's the way you beat movers....

I like Prograis in this fight. The only question I have is if Haney going up in weight would be very beneficial to him.

the ref is going to be more important than usual in this fight - if the ref clamps down on hugging by end of round 2 and deducts a point by round 5 if the warnings haven't worked that will give Regis an edge the last seven rounds
if the ref does nothing for 6- rounds and Haney has banked those rounds then Regis' chances reduce down to a wing and a prayer that Haney gases late

Prograis isn't ******, he's just trying to get under Haney's skin and draw him in a war.

Regis can't afford to fall on haneys dirty boxing tactics ,needs to pressure devin but smartly picking his power shots with lots jabbing involved. Haney will try his best to make it a stinker.

Well Regis, if you do then you are going to have to let your hands go. Attempting to land only single haymakers at a time will not get the job done.

That was the main reason why Lomachenko lost to Devin "The Dream" Haney. It was because of his unwillingness and reluctance to leave it all in the ring by not taking the necessary risks in order to defeat him.

Loma was too cerebral. He was too busy attempting to outthink, outclass and outbox Devin; As opposed to making it firefight. In other words; He allowed the counter punching Haney to get inside of his head by being so tentative and tight.

One cannot expect to out box the master counter puncher and win.

I think Team Haney suspects Prograis is expecting that and will focus on their counter-punching like in the Loma fight. If there is excessive holding, you're right. The ref can either do his job and turn a blind eye.
