I don't know why people are hating on Ryan Garcia. The majority of the criticism against him here are just complete nonsense!
Ryan won the fight by knock out and neutralize Duarte by not making the fight a fire fight but fought tall and got his win. This is his first fight with Derrick James and I believe with more fights there will be better chemistry. Ryan did what he had to do and called out the right person to fight next in Rolly.

I remember when Teofimo fought Pedro Campa for his debut fight at 140 and people said he didn't fight well, the stoppage was poor and he didn't look good at 140. I also remember how he was criticized against Sandor Martin and was even knocked down, I myself criticized him and was scared for him against Josh Taylor but look how that changed. He outboxed and outsmarted Taylor all the time and won spectacularly.

I believe Ryan Garcia should be given time and he will do well. Most of these criticism are just born from hate and it is unnecessary.

Mr. James really needs to teach Garcia to stop pulling straight back with his hands down. That's Boxing 101. That funky azz shoulder roll was abysmal. If Duarte wasn't glued to the canvas , he could have easily stepped around to his left and easily caught Garcia. I hope that just because they won they don't look at it like there weren't mistakes made. They still have plenty of work to do. Ryans offense is nice , defense needs work though, I would have liked to have seen more bodywork from Ryan . Duarte has a pretty good chin.

Idk why boys and men of all ages have always hated dudes that have a large female fanbase. Ryan Garcia is popular with females on social media. So of course some of these men are going to hate him.

For me, i’ve always looked at Ryan Garcia from a boxing standpoint, not social media or looks. I just judge what I see in the ring, who’s he fought, how he fights. Ryan Garcia is not the best but he is a legit boxer with good speed, power and skills.

It looked to me that Garcia, having a long torso, is more susceptible to those body shots. Duarte took advantage of that as much as he could. If I were an opponent of Garcia I'd crack away at that body. Suffice to say, Garcia still needs extra care protecting the body. I think that would help him. He should work on that in training.

I think the shoulder roll was 'funky azz' to the point of illegally turning his back to his cement footed oponent. Indeed we should have heard Duarte's corner screaming at him to step to his left

Ryan gets so much hate i have actually started to root for him. Im happy he got this win, the kids really not a bad fighter. Hes got some good speed and power
