When something like this happens, each sanctioning body should call for a four-man tournament.

Each has 15 boxers in their Top 15; some are in other's. So, you give 16 men, total, a slot in the tournament.

WBC, IBF, WBO, and WBA all hold separate tournaments.

Then, you have the champions face off in a four-man tournament to crown undisputed.

This would surely make the belts more interesting and competitive.

It's good he relinquished them, but why did he wait until now to do it? I suspect his weight cut is going harder than expected and he realized there's no way he's getting back to 135 again.

ESPN are reporting he's planning a title fight at 147 next.

Anyway, this is a good decision by Haney. He'd clearly outgrown the division.

wba won't anger canelo because of $$$.
crawford should vacate his belts like haney for the same reason. then stanionis would be their only welterweight champion.
charr is doomed. i think nobody wants to fight him on purpose. he would be stripped again for not fighting anybody even when they gave him the freedom to fight literally anybody in their top15.
the last one is at minimumweight and that one's problematic. they can't make it... the best solution would be shigeoka brothers vs. rosa and freshmart on the same card.
