Munguia could be decent preparation for Benavidez stylistically. I'm not even sure Munguia beats Ryder though.

I think PBC is setting up the winners of Canelo vs Munguia with (David) Benavidez vs Charlo, which David discussed in a interview yesterday after the fight, for March or May. David would hype up the fight by avenging his brother with the physically larger undefeated twin of the opponent Canelo just fought. Plus stylistically, Charlo is closer to Canelo and Munguia to Benavidez, if be the perfect tune up for both.

I hope that's the case at least.

I seriously doubt it. PBC isn’t gonna sign Canelo to a 100+ million dollar 3 fight deal and have 1 of those 3 fights be vs a non PBC fighter.

Mungia has done nothing to deserve this payday. Oscar has kept him away from quality opposition for years. Must be a reason for that.

PBC doesn't have a TV deal right now. They'll likely allow Canelo to fight Munguia on DAZN and it won't count to the 3 fight deal.

Terrible news if so, Munguia is an awful opponent for Canelo. Benavidez has earned his shot at the undisputed 168lb championship and if I were him I'd do nothing and fight no one at this point.

This fight would still be under the PBC banner. That means Munguia is a prep fight for Benavidez. similar to what I said about AJ. If he is going to fight Wilder, AJ should fight Eje as a tune-up.

You are going to get what you asked for in September and see that an A-level high guard boxer-puncher is superior to a basic come-forward oversized pressure fighter.

If Amazing is streaming and promoting to its' 150 million customer base, PBC and Canelo will get the most **** for the last 2 events of the contract.

There are no superior styles just superior fighters imposing their styles on lesser ones, if not there would be no world champions of various styles.

I guess they will milk the casuals for this but if Canelo needs prep at this point in his career he might as well hang it up.
