Comments Thread For: Prograis on Haney: He Gotta Play the Long Game; I Can Knock Him the F--- Out Whenever I Want

Regis Prograis adamantly believes there is only one way that Devin Haney can beat him--and it doesn't involve a stoppage. The WBC 140-pound titlist from New Orleans insists that Haney simply lacks the power to make it a short night when they meet on Dec. 9 at Chase Center in San Francisco. The fight will mark Haney's debut as a junior welterweight.

Same! Hope he brings his A game, lands that voodoo punch and khtfo. Gonna be a tough task tho imo. My guess is it's gonna be a big ring, and Haney gonna bore the place out.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Haney just comes to run and hug
Hoping that Regis can get to him

Not easy to beat Haney with all the defensive tactics in his arsenal. I could see a hug fest and a boring decision win for Haney. Would be nice to see him lose and see if he would take stay-busy fights among 2nd tier fighters because it hurt much losing to non-established fighters.

All Regis has to do is establish his distance, apply pressure, cut the ring, high activity, and not but least STOP that Clinch.

Haney hits hard enough to keep most opponents honest. They just can't bum-rush him because they'll get their faces busted up like Kambo in the rematch. Haney does not need a KO to win. And the chance of Prograis winning by decision is slim IMO. Prograis better have a plan A. B, and C. He should not use Haney's modest KO ratio to grease his confidence.

Haney can be hurt and Prograis can be outboxed. Haney has good defence, Prograis has good power. This one is really hard to call, specially when looking at their respective last fight.

Prograis definitely has the power, and Haney definitely gets lost when he gets hit.
Having said that, I don't think Prograis will catch him.
His cutting off the ring is not that good.
Haney's team know that and a whole lot more about Regis.
Zorrilla fight is one of the reasons Team Haney wanted to fight Prograis.
