Jt was a wise decision, Andrade was in bad shape and it was only going to get worse for him.
Most people seemed to have missed it but when the referee said he would not allow another round like that to happen, Andrade said "stop it".
That's when his cornerman waived the fight off.
But nothing wrong IMO to call it quits if you feel you can't defend yourself against the onslaught and risk being seriously hurt.

when boo boo said Stop It, he meant he wanted to stop the ref talking silly about not allowing another round like that & just let him get on with it

I watched it again and I don't agree.
Andrade looked at the cornerman holding the water when he said it. Also there wasn't a single reaction when his corner officialy stopped the fight.

What you people don’t understand is that, Andrade has never fought a high rank great fighter! He was looking good on paper and selling himself good. Imagine one thing guys, Canelo is only 5’8” and will give Benavidez all he can handle! He might not beat David, but it would be a MEXICAN war! No running or peak a boo . Fken excuses!

The pace of how Canelo fights, especially now, is very slow.
Benavidez also has excellent conditioning. That combined with real power, constant pressure, high pace, high output.
Canelo also has hardly any movement now, which makes him a sitting duck for Benavidez.
These factors plus his size, I believe Benavidez is just too much for Canelo.

I have to tip my hat and give credit where credit is due. Andrade exceeded my expectations last night. He was in there to actually win the fight. I thought he was winning the fight early on with both his work rate and combination punching up until that knockdown.

He displayed more heart in this fight than in any other fight he has had. I expected him to run and hug all night but instead he decided to stand flat-footed in the pocket and took the fight straight to Benavidez.

That goes without saying. In addition, not to mention that he had the youth and power advantage too. I believe that Andrade's lack of power was the main factor in his losing this fight. He just didn't have enough pop in his punches to fight "The Mexican Monster" off of him.

The main factor was that David is just better than Demetrius, in EVERY sense

[QUOTE=elegua;n32085666]Fighting an older and smaller guy doesn't give him too much to celebrate. If finally Canelo fights him, for sure it will be the end of the charade. Canelo will destroy him![/QUOT. Canelo will not destroy him because he will never fight him. Mark my words, Canelo will avoid Benavediz and Morell like Bud is avoiding Boots.
