Guy turned down just about every top fighter he was ever offered. Could have fought Jermell Charlo in 2015, but pulled out. Was mandatory for Charlo again in 2016, and was also offered Erislandy Lara for Lara's WBA Super, but turned both those fights down to fight WBA Interim Jack Culcay, saying on record that fighting Lara was "last resort". 2018, was supposed to defend against Olympic bronze medalist Falcao, but split with his promotional team and cancelled that fight too. The Saunders fight wasn't on him at least, but he then ducked Janibek to fight Parker, but then pulled out of that too, then ducked Janibek again. Janibek looks kinda like GGG-lite.

If he'd actually fought those guys and won, maybe he wouldn't have faded into irrelevance. Nobody was ducking him. He was irrelevant, having never fought a single top opponent, and we just saw what happens when he finally did. He can pretend all he wants that he was being avoided, but he's even than Munguía about turning down top fights, and even Munguía has a better resume. He's got a similar resume to Berlanga, FFS.

Why else does dazn not do the MW unification?

If Andrade was so easy to beat, not saying any of you are wrong, it makes business sense to have GGG unify with him, dust him off, then make the Canelo fight for all the marbles. Right?

      OR

Have Canelo ice him and the same scenario is in place. Right?

I think Andrade's issue is a combination of being avoided and him turning down fights, believing himself to be able to rise straight to the top. He was wrong and now he's getting old. I don't think he's a fraud, but he'll never be great as a pro. His storied days as an amateur have not and will not carry over to his pro career.

Money. Andrade had no commerciality. Why make Canelo-Andrade when you’ve got Canelo-Kovalev on the table?

The IBF had ordered Canelo vs Derevyanchenko too and he was promptly stripped so it wouldn’t have even been for undisputed.

Because nobody has ever tuned in for an Andrade fight. Guy fights in front of 12 people in his own city.

I constantly see people say "Oh it's not a duck if So and So took a better money fight" yet seem to throw that by the wayside when it comes to Andrade.

If I'm Golovkin and I get to choose between fighting Murata in Japan in front of 60,000 rabid boxing fans, or fight Andrade in Rhode Island in front of the Rhode Island Sports Commission and six fans, I know what I'm choosing.

Based on his performance on Saturday.
I'd even give Munguia a 50/50 shot at KOing Boo Boo.

                  No, he didn't get shafted.

You don't get to fight the top guys in all of boxing just because you want to. You have to earn that fight by beating credible contenders. And that's something Andrade has literally never done.

Benavidez had to beat Dirrell, Plant, Lemieux, and now Andrade before Canelo is even considering fighting him. Former world titlists that your average boxing fan has actually heard of.

There's levels to boxing. You don't just go from fighting Euro level guys to fighting top 3 P4P guys like GGG or Canelo when they were at 160.

I think it's an overreaction. David Benavidez has been looking unstoppable for 5 years now. He looks even more dangerous when he's focused. David leaves himself open at times, but for fighters who don't have the power to hurt him, like Andrade...ooof. Wrong fight. Andrade took a huge risk, and got destroyed. He's a MW. We don't know how he measures up against other elite MWs - because as you said, we haven't seen him against them. Maybe we never will.

I get it- he wasn’t fan friendly, had no support, and dazn was in the business to get subscribers.

I guess we will never know.

Good thing HBO did the mw tourney or Bhop woulda been Andrade.
Andrade couldn't even convincingly beat a old Vanes and went life and death with him. Compared to what GGG did and take Vanes out in 2. He not a bum but hes not some boogie man either. he ducked his share of fights. Janibek the lastest one.
