he took a chance by waiting around and not doing anything in the hopes of landing a big fight(canelo/ggg) that he really didnt deserve. 2 top 10 wins over the #8 and 9 guys at 160 arent very scintillating. i mean hes better than steve rolls or rocky fielding but not really a big miss not fighting a guy with 0 top 5 wins. its not like canelo avoiding ggg or benavidez. those are bad looks.Comment

There wasnt really any good outcome for Andrande here. The problem is he already had a joke of a career at 35.
If Andrade gets blown out, like he did, it just shows what a hype job he was all the time and that his avoid of competition was all strategic.
If Andrade won it would have just shown that he blew all his potential during his prime after finally stepping up at 35...
I guess joke is on us that he finally got a cash out fightComment

Not really. He's a defense first fighter who makes opponents look bad. He didn't get the fights because he's not an attractive option. He tried to do all he can to get a big fight. He moved up 2 divisions to get a PPV fight. He did what he could.
I don't hate on fighters who do that.Comment

Bottom line is there will always be a guy that would nullify that "hit and not get hit" style of boxing.
Andrade is another fighter who likes to give it, but hates taking it. With Benavidez who is willing to get hit,
such style is useless.Comment

He didn't get the fights because he never wanted them. Nobody makes it to 35, has 31 wins, and becomes a 2 division world titilst without ever fighting another man who has won a legitimate world title by accident. Not really. He could have fought guys like Charlo, Lara, Janibek, etc and he ducked those fights. His plan all along was to fight nobodies for vacant belts, defend those belts against even worse nobodies, and then try to talk his way into a Canelo or GGG fight he never earned.
You know how you earn a big fight? You accept fights against guys with names and then you beat them. Like how Benavidez beat Dirrell, Lemieux, Plant, and Andrade. That's what's going to get him a Canelo fight, not blasting out bums and whining to the media about it.
Andrade went life and death in his prime with Vanes Martirosyan. Andrade is a Euro level guy, minus the being European. Martirosyan, Williams, Sulecki, Culcay. That's his level.Comment

Stop lying. He moved up one weight class. Not two. He hasn't fought at 154 since 2014. And he was a massive mw. He likely won't be able to make 160. 6 1 with a 74 inch reach. Benavidez is only 2 inches taller and he's one of the tallest smw's out there. Not really. He's a defense first fighter who makes opponents look bad.
