Ok... maybe now he can actually start defending the title he has in the actual division he holds it in?

      Maybe?

If it is not too much trouble?

I doubt he will. The WBC will now order the Adames fight and I'm expecting that Charlo doesn't defend his title.

he looked like crap. he landed a ton and never hurt a superlightweight. he also ate a lot of shots from Jose and he was lucky the guy was so much smaller that he could just absorb them. Image if he was in there with David not Jose he would get run over tonight.

So what's the plan now? He going to 168 or going back and defending his world title he hasn't defended in 2 and a half years?

Much respect to Jose for showing his toughness from start to finish, especially against the naturally bigger man.

Glad Charlo is back, clearly choked up talking about what this victory means to him. Hope he comes back better and stronger.

They tried to ask his dumb ass if he was more comfortable going to 168 or staying at 160, what DIVISION he prefers and he just said where I am right now, which is his made up division because he couldnt make the 160 contracted weight he originally signed for Jose. then he couldnt even make the 163 they renegotiated for.

Charlo going to have problems with real 168 pounders ,he throwed everything he got and couldn't even drop benavidez who landed heat of his own too but weight difference was evident. Jose could easily not fight but he earned that 225k weight miss xtra bonus. At least fight was entertaining.

This fight lost its luster when Charlo missed weight. He fought a guy who came up in weight, and still weighed more than he should have. Charlo was supposed to win this fight by a landslide. Benavidez's career is just about over due to this loss with an asterisk. People will only see a loss, not the circumstances surrounding it. Hopefully, Charlo's next opponent will be a legitimate middleweight. And perhaps he'll make weight. And then give the fans a truly fair fight.
