You think PBC would sign Canelo to a 100+ million dollar 3 fight deal and let one of those 3 fights be vs a non PBC fighter? Dumb, even for you.

You think its about PBC letting Canelo? You think Haymon dictate to the cash cow of the sport? And you call me dumb. lmao. Canelo dictates to them and he fight anyone he wants, they take it or leave it. Simple. I love it when fans pretend to be promoters and have a clue about whats in a fighters contract.

So I don’t think Munguia is a surprise by any means.
Your claim was not about it being a surprise. I am not surprised either. You questioned what was the problem with the fight as if it was a good fight. Its a disgrace of a fight.

The one thing we haven't seen from Benavidez is getting hit by a big puncher. He is plenty hittable, but I don't believe he has faced anyone with considerable punching power and frankly, I don't think he would be able to take Canelo's heavy shots. Andrade might be the biggest puncher he has faced and it remains to be seen how he will handle it. Plenty media are saying it's a 50/50 fight.

I’m Not a fan of Canelo, but why is fighting Munguia a problem? Dude is undefeated, sure he’s a lil overrated when using the eye test. But he’s a fair opponent. Not the most exciting choice to keep the fans happy. But that’s not the worst right choice I’ve ever seen.

It’s a problem Because Benavidez is available and the best and top ranked opponent. That’s pretty obvious.
I am a huge Canelo fan and have no problem calling it a duck.
Fighting Munguia is a joke. A rematch with Plant is a thousand times better than fighting a glorified protected boxer.

He faced a big puncher when he was only 20. Porky Medina is a puncher. So was David Lemieux. Dirrell could punch also.

well… yeah… I forgot to mention fighters who are not past their best days and had little chance of delivering whatever power they once possessed

I don't have a problem with Benavidez taking that fight though. He can end the hypejob and make some money, and keep building his own name so that the fight with Canelo can really make bank. This is really what he should have been doing all along if he's actually the Boogeyman of the division, and it's a golden opportunity with Canelo taking easier fights. If Benavidez can defeat the best guys and big names in the division while Canelo takes easier cash fights, he starts to look like the uncrowned King of 168, and the hype if he finally does fight Canelo would sell way better. He's got to be a star in his own right.

I was responding to the guy saying Munguia vs Canelo is a good fight. It is absolutely not.
Benavidez can take the fight, it certainly will giving him eyeballs.
