    Froch-Groves I 10 years ago today.

Time flies man. Incredible fight with a terrible ending.

Atmosphere was unbelievable, probably the best I’ve seen in the Manchester Arena post Hatton.

The stoppage still really irks me though, I managed to speak to Howard Foster a year or so after and he still maintains he saw something in Groves’ eyes. I reckons that’s BS though tbh. Robbed us of a potentially great ending.

Time really does fly. Remember watching this live and it blowing up online afterwards. Foster was a bit too anxious but he meant no harm and the death threats he got afterwards were outrageous.

It’s probably the most important UK fight in decades. It created massive buzz in UK boxing.

I remember watching it on TV in a coffee shop in Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow while waiting for a flight. Crazy to think it was 10 years ago.

Groves was definitely hard done by in that fight. There was no doubt he was looking a bit tired but when didn't Groves look like that?

That fight really did give a shot in the arm to British boxing. This was pre Fury and AJ being big names and Hatton, Calzaghe etc had retired.

I actually don’t think the stoppage was that bad.

Of course yes it was early, but not as bad as people make out I think Groves was almost gone there.

Crazy to think 10 years later Froch and Groves are good friends too.

Has anybody ever been to one of their dinner shows? Not been myself yet but heard good things.

I remember agreeing at the time, wasn't too bad of a stoppage and hardly anyone cares now given the results of the rematch.
