I think he could be waiting a while for his shot if Vargas stays at 126 too. It’ll be Vargas-Figueroa first, then possibly a voluntary, then Ball might get his mandated title shot.
I think he could with a couple more fights anyway though. Wouldn’t even be opposed to a domestic fight with Collins tbh.Comment

I couldn't give a **** less about Rey Vargas lol. He's basically Leo Santa Cruz, another light-punching PBC affiliate holding a title hostage. I'm glad O'Shaquie beat him, and I hope Figueroa does too.

Warren normally matches his contenders carefully (i.e. Anthony Yarde when he's not fighting someone elite). He completely ****ed up the recipe with Joyce/Zhang, but he won't be making that mistake with Ball. Collins will definitely be on the table for Ball.Last edited by kiaba360; 11-21-2023, 11:34 AM.Comment

I really hope he vacates. He’s horrible to watch whereas Figueroa and Ball both have really exciting styles which I believe would gel well.Comment

Vargas and Ball are truly polar opposites. If I was Thanos, I'd snap Vargas out of Boxing. I think Ball is a necessity for UK boxing with guys like Wood and Warrington close to the end, and I can imagine Matchroom counting the days til his contract ends. Queensberry needs to keep Ball happy and well-fed. Do NOT let him leave.Last edited by kiaba360; 11-21-2023, 11:39 AM.Comment

Particularly after what happened to Essuman and BentleyComment

Great point. Bentley and Essuman are both on the cusp. Essuman was in line for an IBF title shot, and Bentley gave a decent account against Janibek. Their respective losses will bump them down a bit, but Warren still wins because he promotes all 4 fighters. Especially with Heaney, who seems to have developed a local following.Last edited by kiaba360; 11-21-2023, 12:35 PM.Comment

Not sure if he promotes Scarff. He was mandatory.

Fair play, was gonna say Smith-Fielding although didn’t last long! Paul Smith fights a bit before my time, seen the DeGale fight but will give the other two a watch.Comment

You know what mate, I don’t think you can get Smith-Dodson 1 or Smith-Quigley on tape which is weird because they were both on Sky.Comment
