Comments Thread For: Nick Ball Will Fight For World Title in Next Two Fights, Says Frank Warren

It's safe to say that Nick Ball passed his big test. Ball's fight with Isaac Dogboe - a final eliminator for the WBC featherweight title - was seen as a serious examination of Ball's world title credentials but the way the unbeaten 26 year old dealt with the experienced Dogboe in Manchester on Saturday night showed that he is ready for even tougher tasks.

Hopefully Vargas just vacates. Figueroa vs Ball would be a great matchup.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Rey-Figueroa and let Ball headline against ****ens in Liverpool while he waits for the shot.

That actually might be the most realistic one considering he is currently the number one ranked for WBC which is Vargas/Figueroa anyway. A direct fight with Figueroa next or fighting as undercard of Vargas-Figueroa if there is one then winners meet next will both be a good move IMO. If Vargas returns to weight then his only opponent next has to be Figueroa.

Robeisy already has his next fight then attempting an unification w/Venado afterward, and Venado also wants unification or has mandatory against Reiya Abe if not.

WBA already has a fight for vacant belt and a fight for the eliminator both set up where the winners will meet.

I’d love to see Ball vs Jazza. Haven’t had a good Liverpool derby in years.

I think Team Ball will target the Conlan fight if he gets past Gill.

Think it's highly unlikely he'd go on a PBC undercard for Vargas-Figueroa. Very little chance of that. Think Venado is gonna take care of the Abe fight early 2024 I read. Hopefully a unification summer 2024.

Might get Kholmatov-Ford for the vacant WBA in early 2024 as well. Rumours were Vegas January 13th.

Either of those would be very nice. I'd actually love to see him fight Warrington but won't happen I don't think until he becomes a full champion.

Liam Smith-Fowler the last good one?

...or Ball vs. the Argentine that sent Jazza to the moon.

Even that was a bit one sided, I never really felt Fowler had any business fighting Smith. Same with Callum vs Rocky to some extent. We had a really good run on them in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. Dodson-Quigley, Quigley-Smith and then Smith-Dodson.

I doubt they’d risk fighting him tbh. Risk vs reward and all the usual BS.
