Oh no, that man will move up all the way to 154lbs, look at his back. I’m surprised he started at 126lbs.
My concern for him is his power, and fear of power punchers to the point where he’ll barely fight them (throw punches).
Like if this is how you’re going to fight punchers, no one wants to see him at 147-154 then.
I’m SURE that De Los Santos has a lot of pop, but I don’t think Shakur was in there fighting prime Mike Tyson or Tommy Hearns. I think DLS was a guy who Shakur could’ve opened up against a little more than what we saw him do. But he was too scared of his power to do so.
But yeah, this is 135lbs…DLS is a normal sized 135lb fighter (who will also end up in 147-154). Opponents can definitely get bigger and stronger than DLS. Shakur has his work cut out for him at 140-154 when he gets there.

They both talked big game leading to the fight and both got terrified of doing something to press the action. And I'm more angry at that EDLS fellow. The clock was ticking and he knew he's not going to win a decision, yet he just kept doing this taunting dance for what? He could have easily stayed in the middle of the ring, put on a high guard and say, "Hit me, give me your best shot, I'm here and you don't have to run, let's fight."Comment

Good, that's what Shakira gets for talking all that smack and not backing it up in the ring with that awful performance.
Just when I thought we finally got rid of all the boring, safety first guys, Mayweather and Rigo, Stevenson shows up and eclipses them with one of the most disgraceful boxing showings ever.Comment

I think there was one or two BEFORE the Nakathalia fight, because I remember after the Nakathalia fight venting about him doing this "again"
Not to mention his fight buildups are just trash too. The Herring "we're not real friends" thing was almost as cringe as the Joet sister thing.Comment

The high guard will only provide some level of protection, but at least it signifies engagement, not that in and out crap both fighters did in rhythmic nonsense. One goes in, the other goes out. Rinse and repeat. ZERO engagement. How are you supposed to get a result with such ****** nonsense? They both talked big game leading to the fight and both got terrified of doing something to press the action.
