World Boxing Council chief Mauricio Sulaiman believes a certain magazine is at risk of eroding the legitimacy of boxing. Sulaiman took aim at The Ring, the more than century-old boxing periodical that shut down its print operation last year, in a recent interview when he was asked about the magazine's decision to refrain from putting its belt on the line for the upcoming flyweight unification bout between Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez and Sunny Edwards on Dec. 16 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

IMO the Ring is just as corrupt as the other orgs. I remember during that entire Canelo positive test debacle, the Ring's "editor" went to social media and admitted he was ordered by Golden Boy, who own the Ring, to NOT remove Canelo from his Ring belt or the Ring rankings due to the positive test. After that, I never visited the Ring or bought a magazine ever again.

Absolutely correct. It's outrageous that these alphabet crooks have the gall to sit there with a straight face and try to act as if they have boxing's best interest at heart. They're nothing but parasites and thieves.

WBC is the most corrupt sanctioning body in boxing. Why was Charlo allowed to hold his title hostage for 2 1/2 years while not defending it? WBC rankings are all over the place.
