The way the article is worded, DeLos Santos got the fight because Martin, Zepeda, Pitbull and Loma all said no.

yeah its a pity that loma is not onboard for this fight, would be a good one i think

actually one way shakur could have got the loma fight is to have taken the haney 25% offer and snatched his belts & then taken the big share in a fight v loma

Shakur called him out post Haney because they are the 2 highest ranked boxers for the belt Haney vacated.

Also, how did Loma look mediocre against Haney?

Don’t make excuses for Loma ducking Shakur to instead fight Kambosos, if this happens as had been reported, for an easy payday.
If you could not tell Loma had lost a step or two in that Haney fight, then you have not been watching Loma fight. Loma was way slower and way less reactive. Did you not see his face at the end?

I watched all his fights. He may not be prime Loma.
Loma imo lost because Teo and Haney are bigger LW with speed. Ortiz gave him fits for the same reason. Loma was way too fast for Nakatani or Commey, negating the size advantage.

A lot of posters ( not me) and boxers, including Shakur, felt he beat Haney. That is also why Shakur called him out.

Let’s not create a false narrative that Shakur is coming for Loma because he is old or slowing down.

If Loma chooses to fight Kambosos to get an easy payday, that surely is a duck and should be labeled as such.

                I hadn’t seen this.

Zepeda is never quoted in the article. Its Gomez saying Zepeda wants Shakur.

I think this is Gomez doing a bit of damage control.

If Zepeda really feels this way I guess they can fight if Loma chooses to avoid Shakur again after Kambosos.

Would be a good fight imo.

Maybe you’re right I didn’t think of that and took it as Zepeda said so or blindly believing Gomez. However, who cares. If they can come together and make the fight happen, why not? It’ll good mesh of styles and whoever imposes their will and gameplan will win. I’d favor shakur to win but shrimp isn’t out of his mind for thinking he can win too. There’s so many good matchups to be made at 35 it’s crazy.

Loma got hit with a lot of shots he would not have been hit with before his surgery and long layoff. He lost to Teo because he took the first half of the fight off due to rust. it was well over a year between Teo and Campbell fights He lost to Haney because he completely slowed down.

People are seeing that. he is still a name and he is ripe for the picking. People would love to have Loma on their resume especially since they know they can beat him easy.

Great Point! Shakur had an offer to fight for the Undisputed Championship. Had he won Loma would have ran to that opportunity to become Undisputed.
