I think Freddie knows Manny can toy around when training, and especially in the Phillipines. I guess this is why he is saying 1k a KD because Manny might be toying around to the media and fans. Keeping his hands up is 100% vital VS Cotto who has power to KO him.

I hopes no one puts too much stock in this ridiculous story. Any fighter who gets knocked down while wearing protective head gear in sparring should not be fighting the ring. I wonder if he is extended this same offer to Miguel Cotto on November 14. If so, I am sure Cotto will collect several thousand dollars.

What next? How about Cotto masks. Makes just about as much sense.

No it's not a standard, I don't believe there's any standard. You make a deal for what you can get. [just like when you buy real estate, or other investment, you want to get 10% on your investment, but we all know that you try to get as much as you can].

Once, it was the trainer and manager who got the big share. That changed with the approach of modern times and big exposures of the reasons why boxers were little better than pawns. Racketeering was exposed, and several "big shots" sent to jail.

Some managers used to take 30% or even MORE. here were some deals for 50%......That was a reason why there were so many punch drunk fighters little better than paupers when retirement came upon them faster than they expected.

No I don't have any articles that I can lay my hands on, but I have a very good memory, and I remember being rather incensed at the Roach's tactics, and I'm certain, that during the whole schemozzle it was mentioned that a top fighter would more generally pay 3% to his trainer, because of the huge purses. If I could take the time, I'm sure I could find some. I have about 20 years Or so of both Ring and Boxing Illustrated and I think there was something in one of them too. But I haven't goty the time. As well as finishing up some work which is already past due, I'm trying to get ready to move down to
Panama. So I'm also looking for any Boxingscene guys who live there, and would like them to contact me. at mt private mailbox on this site..
