I think it's a great idea but $1K is not enough motivation for someone who is already making a decent living. For $10K guys may take a real shot at him. But, why would you want to hurt your own fighter so it's a catch-22.

I think you forget that they are being paid for sparring with Manny. $1000 is just an extra bonus for putting Manny on the canvas.
