An imperfect messenger can still deliver a message that needs to be heeded. I bet the Bobfather is glad someone else is saying it because it'll look worse coming from TR (i.e. Arum saying TR lost money on Crawford). Matchroom bid on Lopez/Kambosos, so Hearn will have an idea of Lopez's earning potential. Not as accurate an idea as Top Rank will, but Matchroom did give Teofimo one of his biggest purses. TR has seemingly been careful not to replicate the misstep they made with Bud. That's why they let Teofimo go to purse bid, because they refused to give him the $$$ he wanted. As good as he is, Teofimo doesn't have it all figured out. He isn't the big draw he wants to be yet, and being inactive and immature won't get him closer to that goal. Barboza and TR parted ways partly Teofimo wouldn't agree to face him, so TR had no reason to keep him. Teo should be promoting for a fight right now against a contender like Barboza, but he's talking shxt about DAZN instead.

And Eddie is talking sh^t about Teo instead of promoting his UK FNF level shows.

If Bob is making bad deals, thats on him not Eddie. Eddie has made plenty of bad deals & I'm sure Bob dgaf.

Eddie's always talking about the price & talking about value for money tho & he's the main DAZN guy putting on events. And he fails harder than any promoter in my estimation at providing value for money while being the most expensive. Sh^t if I was paying the same price for DAZN I was for Showtime & ESPN over the last few yrs it would still be overpriced.

Hearn's response to Teo was part of a longer interview, where he does speak of a NXTGEN show coming up. The average boxing fan will fast-forward right through that portion though because tbh, a lot of us only pretend to care about a fighter's journey. Most of us just want to see contenders and champions.

I'm a guy who LOVES the early prelims to see guys like Jalil Hackett, Kel Spencer, Floyd Diaz & Abdullah Mason (4 of my fav guys on the way up), but you can't charge ppl $200 a year for that level of event plus fooking darts is all I'm saying. If I was a UK fan I might feel different, but as a US fan Eddie's side of the DAZN world is mostly stuff even a diehard US boxing fan isn't gonna give that many fooks about & they are overcharging for it on top of it not being very compelling.

He's definitely lost some of his fighting ability, I think it's more psychological, than it is physical, but he's lost some of his effectiveness in the ring.
Look for Tank, Matias, Haney, possibly Ryan, and even Stevenson, when he decides to move up to 140 to beat Teofimo, in the near future.
I'd add Prograis (I have a feeling he's gonna upset Haney), Jose Ramirez, and Gary Antuanne Russell to that list. To your point, Teo has gotten B O R I N G. He reminds me of Clarissa Shields - loads of boxing ability though not quite backing it up in the ring (Clarissa with her 14% KO rate while constantly saying she's gonna knock people out & Teo just not being impressive anymore), with a big mouth & bad attitude like the world owes them something, a bit delusional (not fully) in regards to their talent, and more delusional regarding their worth. You gotta be ****y to be a fighter or you won't be one for long. But the people fans pull for have decorum as well.

I only watch DAZN for boxing, so it'll never have as much value for me as it could. I'm wondering if I'll renew my subscription early next year. TR has the most palatable formula...and SHO/PBC has the worst. TR has done their best to stay off PPV, whereas SHO has been hitting us over the head with PPVs. Putting a fighter on PPV doesn't automatically him a PPV attraction.

Matchroom is in a difficult position, and one that they put themselves in. Before Matchroom, the promoters didn't consistently venture outside their own shores. I assume that's why the relationship between Warren and Arum (Boxing Dinosaurs) is so positive, because they don't step on each other's toes. I don't mean to disregard Queensberry's importance, but I think Matchroom (under Eddie) has been instrumental in conditioning the USA fan to consume UK boxing on a normal basis. I actively pay attention to UK domestic level fighters, maybe more so than USA fighters. Froch/Groves and Joshua vs. Whyte/Klitschko left a lasting impression on me because the atmosphere felt unique. I couldn't (and still can't) imagine US promoters ever throwing an event in a venue the size of Wembley stadium. Joshua/Whyte wasn't at Wembley, but it was a domestic-level match-up that had the energy of a world title fight. The dinosaurs LOVE to hate Hearn because he's a pompous loudmouth, but he's a promoter forged by the social media age. I'd imagine someone like Don King would've run wild on social media if the technology had existed in his heyday.

I think the UK just has a more sports/entertainment deprived atmosphere that allows fans to want see boxing. In the US there are a million things going on, sports, entertainment, ********, weed, etc so Eddie has an easier job. I mean look no further than Eddie's lack of success in the US as evidence he's in a good region to be selling boxing. I think the US has waaaaaay more talented boxers than the UK who are worth paying attention to, but the potential audience in the US isn't as engaged by the sport of boxing is the issue. And the sport feels dated here also with how advanced & progressive to the culture & technology other sports/entertainment is is part of the issue too I'd argue. Going too deep in the weeds here probably at this point lol.

I do give Eddie credit for making competitive fights & imo he's the best at that at all levels. His getting his guys beat at the prospect to top ten level all the time. So if you just wanna see well matched fights Eddie does the job, but I'm more skewed towards US guys so while I get behind some UK guys like Hopie Price & Royston Barney-Smith I just don't see value in the UK product since I don't see the same talent level there & my US boxing interest isn't being satisfied very well to overpay for that product.

Teo has skills i will admit that even tho i dont always like to but yea he is a floater up inside his own head -- that said you never know for sure who is going to show up inside the ring from time to time hell the guy can switch up mid fight then after the fight it is most always a schitt show of some kind -- a real amusment park with that guy.
