Yeah that's deffo it. Because they rather have charlo as the champion then elevating Adames to full champion because he's not a really a name in the sport. But yeah the middleweight division is a ghost town right now. That guy who janibek just battered was holding a world title and he looked like a average European level fighter
and you've got Danny Garcia fighting Erislandy Lara who are not really middleweights fighting for the WBA belt in December. Middleweight division is poor so they ain't gonna take the belt of charlo if there's more money to be made with him then anyone else

I was under the assumption that sanctioning fees come out of a fighter's purse...but Jermall has been INACTIVE FOR 2 YEARS. It's not like the WBC is benefiting from his inactivity. They are better off upgrading Adames because at least Adames is active. Also, there was never any indication that Jermall was returning back to MW. All the rumors were pointing to him moving to 168.

Thinking that’s exactly the plan unfortunately. Keep Charlo as a belt holder in the event that Reynoso & Canelo ultimately look his way. Mall is ripe for the picking & the WBC have been twiddling their thumbs for 2+ years. Hope that’s not the case, would be an utter waste of time
