This division is another huge mess. Four sanctioning orgs competing to make their titles active. They have a reigning champion who fights once a year, 2 of them were rematches, then fights for a money-grab 2 divisions up. He might retire holding undefended belts at the rate he's going.

The guy in the article has been mandatory since 2019. How many more years he had to wait for his shot is not clear.

Don't know why they can't just vacate belts they don't intend to defend.

The more titles Jermell vacates, the less leverage he has. Jermell also can't afford to go on too long a hiatus.

These orgs need to follow their own rules also, not just make them up as they go. HHmm, I'm looking at you WBC.

That's true. He just came from a long hiatus too. Him and his brother, man, I don't know.

After that non-effort?
Fair point, he did what he thought was best but the result is he might lose some belts in the office while his stock has lowered after just trying to survive 12 with Canelo. Was it worth the payday? Only Charlo can answer that.

So Charlo got 3 days left to make a decision. There's no other choice than to let it go through purse bid, especially now that PBC still has to look for a home broadcaster.

Even though he fought like a coward the $20 million dollar bag is the answer to your post

The 30 day period ends today, November 9.

"A mandatory title fight more than three years in the making now appears destined for a purse bid hearing."
