Boxing fans can apparently forget about seeing an undisputed light heavyweight title fight between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev anytime soon—or so long as Russia’s onslaught against Ukraine persists.

Arum told BoxingScene.com that he would not consider making a Beterbiev-Bivol fight for corporate reasons. Bivol is backed by Eddie Hearn, whose Matchroom Boxing has a content output deal with DAZN, the streaming platform. Arum’s Top Rank has its own broadcasting deal with ESPN. Arum excoriated DAZN for its supposedly low viewership, saying the only way he would make that fight is if his company gets to promote it on ESPN.

    Bivol is boring - Arum

Arum, taking Ukraine's side in the Russia conflict. won't pursue bivol due to the war

There is no way Bivol is going to sign with this guy. He is a proud Russian. it's against his personal interest.

You said Bob openly stated he hates bivol. I asked you to post him saying that and you post nothing with him saying that. Smh

      Only on boxingscene

I never said bivol should sign with top rank. I said the fight gets made tomorrow if he did sign with top rank. Because Bob already said to boxingscene.com in the article i posted, that it can only happen on espn. Well bivol signing is the way to make that happen.

But if bivol is a proud Russian than he can just forget about the Beterbiev fight and go to pbc and wait for Benavidez, Morell, and Plant to move up

Broadcasters etc wouldn’t touch a fight staged in Russia at the mo with the war going on. So no international broadcast rights shrinks that fight a bit. Also I wonder what the Russian economy is like atm, surely it’s ass with all the sanctions, boycotts and funds going towards the war?

Not the most noteworthy options, but if it is just to shake off the ring rust to fight Beterviev it be worth the wait.

The light heavyweight is becoming quite lackluster, are there any noteworthy contenders to watch besides the highly skilled but highly unactive world champs?

            Do you hate Bivol?

As good as he is he will get broken if he fights Artur next.

                Lol.

This is a horrendous list. Bivol should have just accepted Canelo’s terms for the rematch.

                    I have it 55-45 Artur.

I just hope it is a good fight
