Hearn’s been talking about it for just over a year now, it’ll happen. Bivol vs Beterbiev is pretty much dead, confirmed by corrupt WBC and Arum.

Hearn’s always talking, I wouldn’t really pay much attention to him waffling.

The WBC will come round if the money is there, as will Arum who doesn’t seem to keen on the fight likely because he doesn’t see a profit margin.

The biggest problem with the fight is where do you stage it? Russia is off limits for obvious reasons and I don’t think the fight does big numbers in the US. Maybe the Saudi’s put it on, but is it something they’ll really be interested in?

I've said it many times, boxing only cares to cater to the casual base, since us die hards will tune in either way and just complain about the mismatches. Artur has a big following in Quebec, but those fights never pay (Browne made 100k to get years beaten out of him) Wouldn't sell in Vegas. So what do you do? Have it as a co main for a BS main event with two popular fighters?

Exactly. Most casuals barely even know who they are tbh. I’m hoping the Saudi’s maybe get involved with Beterbiev being a ****** and both guys coming face to face during Fury fight week. Can’t say I’m optimistic though.

Arum told BoxingScene.com that he would not consider making a Beterbiev-Bivol fight for corporate reasons. Bivol is backed by Eddie Hearn, whose Matchroom Boxing has a content output deal with DAZN, the streaming platform. Arum’s Top Rank has its own broadcasting deal with ESPN. Arum excoriated DAZN for its supposedly low viewership, saying the only way he would make that fight is if his company gets to promote it on ESPN.
