With Joshua's decline and Canelo gone, where's the silver lining? One of the best things they did was incorporate sports popular in other countries. Foreigners can now enjoy what's not mainstreamed in the U.S.
Idk their exact balance sheet tbh & they are in multiple sports as you mention, but they have something of value in numerous countries & this streaming market is insane right now so worse case I think they get bought out more than they go outta business.

There are plenty of fights that I've watched multiple times. I have never watched the same football game twice. I think the only basketball game I've seen more than once was Iverson's game 1 win vs the Lakers in the NBA Finals.
I never thought about this, but you might be right. I don't follow ANY non-combat sports so I might be a bad judge of if its true, but ik boxing fans tend to have more interest in old fights than I've ever heard from other sports fans in old games. And idek where you'd go to find an NFL game from 2004 like you'd be able to find a fight from 2004 so it rings true to me.

That said I don't think there is much value in the evergreen value of live sports in general & I doubt thats built into how much Netflix would value boxing if they did get involved in it. In general I don't even think ppl watch old fights they never saw like they'd watch an old movie or TV series they never saw on the regular. That live number is probably 95% or more of the value of a fight while it might only be 20% or less of the value of a movie in week one or maybe even year one.

They MIGHT want weekly shows. They MIGHT only want big fights once or twice a month. Who knows. If its the former then that would be great for them, but if its the latter maybe they would need to do a deal with Netflix AND another platform. This is where a deal with Amazon would be superior in that the big fights could be on Prime Video & the weekly shows could be on FreeVee where Amazon has started to add live sports & I believe it has 5x or 6x the regular viewers/subscribers of Showtime.

The attracting fans thing is asking too much of a content deal. I mean as a sport that should be something ppl are attempting for the upside of the future of the boxing, but idk that Al, Bob or Eddie should give that many fooks about it. They are trying to make the bottom line make sense to them & the ppl giving them money today not in 10 or 20yrs. Its too big of an ask imo so isn't really relevant to anything except the boxers who aren't even born yet or ppl in the business in 10 or 20yrs which probably won't include Eddie & Al & for sure won't include Bob.

They're open to the conversation, but only with the intent they're going to be able to run it using a similar business model as the UFC. A money-suck in desperation with a looming deadline doesn't have much sway against the industry titans.

LOL I haven’t read more nonsense in my life. Nice paragraph but all you are is a hater with zero logic.

Okay ‘Zero Boxing IQ’ let’s see if PBC use a similar business model as the UFC if they sign to Netflix or Amazon, then we’ll know if you’re spouting nonsense (you are) and that’d be impossible because all the promo companies are scrambled, like you already mentioned. Please.. logic

I don't know how Netflix and Amazon do with sports, but they do a hell of a lot better with streaming than DAZN. Whichever one picks up PBC, would have to not fall for those same pit traps.
I think you should be the financial advisor & contract manager for Netflix or Amazon since you know what to warn them about, regarding PBC LOL! Armchair casuals are hilarious

How have you come to the conclusion that cable is winning the war against streaming services when everything screams the opposite?

I'm a big fan of soccer and golf. In soccer terms my support probably defines me more than anything else in my life.

I don't go back and watch a heap of soccer matches. It's more an 'in the moment' thing.

I watch old fights every night. They definitely hold longer term value.
