  • Comments Thread For: Jose Benavidez Sr. Says Andrade Is Not 'A Horrible Fighter,' But Predicts 8th-Round KO For Son

Jose Benavidez Sr. was much more complimentary of Demetrius Andrade on Thursday afternoon than Canelo Alvarez was when Andrade crashed his press conference following the Mexican superstar's stoppage of Billy Joe Saunders in May 2021.

I think the same, might be tricky for the first few rds as Andrade starts fast and Benavidez might take a bit to wear him down but Booboo is fragile and fades. Either he gets stopped or quits on his stool before the end of 8.

Nah, Andrade lasts longer than 8...fragile undefeated world champ at 154, 160?...send me the fighter that Andrade demonstrated fragility so I can scope it on youtube and see what you're talking about?

What size ring? Large ring allowed Caleb plant to run. Will this be the same?

I never liked Andrade but he can very well crash the party and ruin David's plan for Canelo.

I'm really surprised Benavidez is taking this. Massive respect for him if it goes ahead.

I’m not going to underestimate Andrade’s ability to be good enough to survive 12 rounds. He could feel Benavidez power early and then run around for the rest of the fight. And honestly I don’t think Benavidez is good enough at cutting off the ring. Vs Plant, he just followed him around and was outboxed for the first 5 rounds.

This will be much of the same. Andrade won’t have the power to keep Benavidez off him, and Benavidez will have plenty of power especially for Andrade. This will lead Andrade to not engage as much after 3-4 rounds. Survival mode will ensue.

If the boiled down Cruiserweight Benavidez can’t stop the blown up LMW Andrade I have to question if his power is legit.

Callum Smith would have flattened Andrade at 168. Benavidez needs to make a statement here.
