So basically, Barrios is willing to die for more than a few bucks.

Instead, he believed that the only way he could improve was by challenging and pushing himself to the limit.

I’m more curious if Ennis would take this fight?

Stanionis, Santillan, Giyasov, Crowley are still undefeated but when you've got guys like Avanesyan, Rocha, and Mario Barrios rounding out the top 10, it doesn't seem as strong as it has been. Drop Crawford, Spence, and Vergil Ortiz Jr from the mix, and what's left?

6 years ago before the emergence of Bud and Spence at WW, people had the same exact sentiments about the division. Can you name fighters that made that division great?
It took some time for the two guys to clear the competition.
Neither Spence nor Bud were being spoken of as the next big thing. Like you, I rate Boots on the eye test. He just needs to fight. He’s only 26 years old.

Perhaps during his reign the division will be like the 168 division when Canelo unified against guys that weren’t a threat to him. Perhaps someone will emerge that will challenge Boots. My gripe is with the toxic haters who are so full of hate, quick to but short on knowledge

He’d take it in a heartbeat. Right up Ennis’ lane. Barrios is terrible and zero threat.

I agree but it still maybe too risky if Barrios has a 2% chance for him. You know how todays undefeated boxers are.

Solid points. But that's also why I think people overrate the division. I never really understood why Spence deserved to be on the P4P list with his skill set and 6 defenses in one division, and asked his fans to explain. Never got an answer, and then Bud gave him a lesson on levels.

I've always been more invested in what skills I see fighters apply in the ring than in saying "this guy is a better win than this other guy because he's in the welterweight division."

I hope Ennis does step up the activity and fight more, even if people avoid him. Feels like his career is being squandered here from lack of activity.

This era is mostly great fighters not facing eachother like Shakur, Tank, Teofimo, Devin Haney not facing one another, besides Bud bussin' Errol's hind quarters, the best fight was Plant slapping Big Charlo on his throat and across his jaw. Lions only... meowwww
