    Comments Thread For: Benavidez: I Respect Crawford A Lot, But I Don't Wanna See A 147-Pounder Fight A 168-Pounder

David Benavidez understandably believes that he should be Canelo Alvarez's next opponent, not Terence Crawford. The unbeaten Benavidez feels he has clearly established himself as the true super middleweight who has earned a shot at Alvarez's IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO 168-pound championships. Phoenix's Benavidez owns the WBC interim super middleweight title and is the WBC's mandatory challenger for one of Alvarez's four crowns.

Benavidez is rightfully so demanding he be next for Canelo
Love Bud and think he has a great shot at beating him but it’s not his weight or division so should not be the one fighting him
Now , who do you think Canelo will pick if he has a choice between the two ?

The winner of Benavidez/Andrade should be next for Canelo. That is the fight that most know would be the most competitive and the one with more significance.

Crawford-Canelo is only appealing due to name value. At the end of the day, size matters. Can only move up in weight so much before the size disadvantage outweigh the level of skill of a fighter.

As good as Crawford is, people who think that the size difference won't be a factor, don't know sh** about boxing...

Benavidez deserves the Canelo fight and should 100% be next up. The problem is, that’s irrelevant to canelo as he currently sees Benavidez as too big a risk and canelo prefers to take lesser risk options just like he picked Charlo over Benavidez. So I could very well see Canelo opting for Crawford because it’s a more winnable fight. Although it’s not a guarantee that canelo wins because size is his only advantage over Crawford. It’s a big advantage, but there’s nothing in a boxing ring that he does better than Crawford.
