  • Can't be arsed to read the whole thread, but which fight of Calzaghe's at 160 are we basing this on again?

    • Hopkins would outclass Calzaghe much worse in the 90s than he already did in their actual fight.

Hopkins for the first half of his career was more of a puncher who enjoyed beating the other guy up. The second half of his career he became more defensive and IMO a better boxer.

Joe already beat Hop in his better version, the younger brawler would be outclassed by the superior boxing of Calzaghe.

Hopkins peaked in 2000. Get a fucking clue.

            • joe got dropped by the 40 year old versions of both roy and hopkins.

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out what would have happened if they fought in their prime.

joe would have been utterly obliterated.

Are you ******ed? a 46 year old Bhop with zero power left and only 10% of the punch output he had at 160 dropped Calslappy easy in 1 round. A prime middleweight Bhop that used to throw 100 punches a round and KO everyone would have KHTFO EASY ******.

anyone can bundle someone over, look at the kd, the main reason joe went down vs hopkins is because hopkins leaned into him, the punch never really shook calzaghe, after that calzaghe outclassed and embarrassed him

roy jones freaking fore arm smashed joe in the face, are you crazy man? most would be k0d by that

there is a reason hopkins ducked joe early 2000s, he agreed to fight joe in wales, right at the end he asked for double the purse he first asked for and then backed out, he knew would have lost, calzaghe beat the best hopkins

roy jones was also afraid of joe, a past him prime calzaghe schooled jones, god knows what a prime joe would do to both those two

as I said, there is a reason thye ducked joe, it was because calzaghe was better and too much of a risk, no doubt, calzaghe would beat any version of hopkins during his career as he beat the best easily already, hopkins almost got a gift, but thank god justice was done in the end

What did he beat Hopkins at anyway slapping air? The guy didn't land 1 effective punch in 12 rounds. Not 1. Calslappy fans know that but they love to troll because of the "official" decision. Anybody with working eyes knows what Calslappy was doing that night wasn't even boxing. U can't even call his slaps punching with a straight face and to top it off whatever those arm flicks are called they didn't land. The fix was in that night but whatever. Nobody takes Calzaghe seriously which is why he's never even talked about other then some fan club troll posts from guys who love his looks and don't know boxing. Calzaghe gives them a boner.

Calzaghe boxing is shown to young fighters as an example of what not to do ever if you want to be taken seriously.

hopkins was not 46 when he was schooled

                      he also walked into joe

after the so called kd, joe embarrassed him, calzaghe beat the best hopkins, he as I said, there is a reason an earlier hopkins plain out ducked calzaghe
