This very concept is ******ed since Chicken**** scared joe could barely get past old hopkins and was too scared to give him a rematch.

He would have never fought him since he couldn't be bothered to fight SVEN OTTKE in his own joke of a division in his prime.

After reviewing both Dawson fights especially the 2nd its clear the Calzaghe and Dawson types that throw and have good work rate will always trouble Hop. He has a great legacy but he lucked out that RJJ and Calzaghe decided not to fight at mw for their whole careers. If they did Hop would be seen as a Benny Briscoe good but never good enough fighter.

its funny how hopkins came up from 160, joe from 168 yet calzaghe is the one who fougth at a unnatural weight.

in all honesty they were both big enough to carry the weight and it gave neither fighter an advantage, calzaghe had been struggling to make 168 for years. im quite sure he wouldve moved up regardless if hopkins was his next oponent or not.

hopkins beat him at 40+ with half the arsenal he had in his prime, at his best he wouldve killed calzaghe.

How to show in one post that you started watching boxing in 2005 (at the earliest).

I do not think Hop won that fight, but I do not understand how people miss what I bolded. Calzaghe managed to be put on his ass by senior citizens... what do you think would have happened 10 years earlier?

He was free to come over to the U.S. and fight when these guys were prime, he decided to hide out in Europe. There is a reason.
