I remember this happening quite frequently, indeed.

But fear not, perhaps in the end Makabu will manage to arrive at destination after someone tells him that you put a x5 on him

I think Don King has connections in the Immigration department - this happened on another fight he was promoting - Charr vs Bryant if memory serves me right - and more than once.

I think what it is is that King promises to take care of the paperwork and then for whatever nefarious reason he doesn't take care of the paperwork - but nobody can prove that. Then he probably claims insurance for a failed event whilst lying about his losses - yeah - that would be a felony charge - but when did King ever worry about little inconveniences like that.

This is PPV and he's probably seen it's doing badly so this is his go-to solution.

i'm tempted to pick the same but I want to see what Makabu weighs in at and how he looks - this one of the lousiest pre-fight preparations I've seen recently - 12 hour (?) flight to a different time zone 48 hours before the fight.

Mikaelyan must stop him to win, that's for sure. Makabu is shot, but somehow still protected.
