Francis should have signed to fight fury after he left the ufc instead of a new mma deal right away.

Tyson Fury is telling you over and over that he trained hard for 12 weeks but you won’t believe him? Is it because he showed up without his typical eight pack?

Two observations:

1. Fury saying something provides no persuasive case for believing it.
2. Fury's butt cheeks appeared to go halfway up his back.

He may well have done a 12-week camp. I don't think he trained as hard as he would for a top end fight. No matter what he says, he perceived Ngannou as a low-level threat -- a big, strong man with no real boxing experience (which is a fair assumption; the main is a boxing novice).

It turned out to be a stylistic 'mare for Fury. I think Ngannou gets his ears boxed off by plenty of other heavyweights, who will take him very seriously if/when those fights happen.

No, he has a very lucrative deal, and is only obligated to 2 or 3 MMA fights.

Ngannou will debut in the league's "Super Fight Division" in 2024 and share in the pay-per-view revenue for his fights. He will spearhead the league's push into Africa as chairman and minority equity owner of the new PFL Africa division. He will serve on the PFL athlete advisory board.

And that's just what was included in the promotion's official press release.

According to MMA business reporter John Nash (h/t Stephie Haynes of Bloody Elbow) the former UFC champ will receive "just shy" of eight figures for each of the two to three fights on his deal, have full control over his own sponsors, receive a salary to work as a PFL brand ambassador and have total freedom to compete in boxing.

PFL have basically no choice but to smile and go along with whatever Ngannou wants.

They signed the guy to a deal and most likely all they're gonna actually get out of it is the ability to use his name and an occasional non competing appearance. Hes probably never going to fight for them now.
