    Great thread. Good stuff throughout.

I may be in the minority but I was impressed with Cotto's performance against Clottey. Josh is no easy task though he may become easier now that he's got a little coin in his pocket. I expected Cotto to have hell with Clottey and he did. But his ability to fight through that cut eye - and whatever demons he was facing - cemented his spot at the top of the welterweight chain IMO.

This is the way I see it with Cotto, Cotto fought Jennings right after Marg. When he fought Clottey, everyone said he did not have a chance against him. At that time, I believe Cotto was still railing from the Marg fight, he was fighting a huge WW that everyone said was going to kill him. Of course he must have been concerned, but after his victory against Clottey (wether you think he won or not, he WON), his confidence must be sky high. If Cotto comes in against Pac the way he was before the Marg fight, Pac will have many problems. Lets say for a minute that Marg had plaster that day, Cotto took 11 rounds of plaster, and I do not think that Pac can do more damage than that.

Cotto has a devastating body punch and I do not know if Pac would be able to handle it. One thing is for sure, I believe is going to be a great fight. Pac is a great fighter, props to him for taking a fight with the bigger man. These two guys should be respected wether you are a fan or not because they fight the best in the sport.

As good as this fight is expected to be I was shock the day the announcement of the matchup because the last thing I wanted was to see my 2 very favorite fighters fight each other I rather wanted to watch Cotto-Mayweather and Pacquio-Marquez III and then whatever they wanted to come with.

There is a world of difference between getting sparked with 1 punch early, and getting the **** beaten out of you with 2 bricks for 11 rounds.

Based on the performance after his fight with Margarito, now you called him damaged? **** happens. The loss from Margarito was like his stepping stone. He learned from that loss. He was able to get away and fight against Clottey with a big cut. Now that was heart. He didn't have that against Margarito. I can see he's pretty determined now. I am a Filipino but I'm rooting against Cotto on Nov. 14. Let's just see what happens.
