Would somebody please remind me how it is a bad thing for a top boxer who always wins to not have devastating power?

Wouldn't that say even more about his abilities? For example, Pernell Whitaker, Willie Pep, Bernard hopkins, Joe calzaghe, etc.

BTW, I also suspect that Floyd doesn't go for the knockout because it might hurt his brittle hands, which is BTW is just slightly as brittle as his balls.

But Floyd does have power, he just doesn't want to risk finding out.

The way i look at fights is that each fighter fights in the style which he thinks gives him the best chance to win.

For example, Pac's style works very well for him. He has to throw a lot of power shots because without the KDF's, he'd be 0-2 against JMM.

Hopkins likes to wear down his opponents and go for a KO late. floyd is the same way. If he hurts you early, he is a solid finisher. If he doesn't see it, he is comfortable getting the decision.

I agree with what Steward and Lampley were saying. one of Floyd's greatest attributes as a fighter is that he isn't trying to satisfy anyone but himself.

Hard to argue with FM's results. But I'm sure the thread starter has better qualifications at his job than Floyd has in boxing.

This post was starting to sound like another Floyd ballsucking fest until the end. And you would be right about that statement. Kudos to you.

                  FACTS:

                  1. Floyd knows he can beat anyone placed in front of him and doesn't need to go for the knockout.
                  2. Floyd has brittle hands. This is important when discussing power. If he hurts his hands going for the ko, there goes his livelihood.
                  3. Floyd will pick money over legacy. Meaning less risk/more reward. (Nothing wrong with this as long as his fans don't deny it. I probably would do the same too if I reached the status that Floyd has. He's got mouths to feed).

From what I know, Mayweather would have stopped Chop Chop had he not fucked up his right hand in their bout.

Floyd had 1 punch KO power at 130. At 147 he does not have that. However, he does have enough power at 147 to demand respect. But, it dosen't matter if he has power or not. That is not he style to go for the KO. He proved against Hatton that he can get the KO if it comes. But, he is not going to push it. And, there is nothing wrong with that. I do not care if he KO's artist or a defensive specialist. I would never bash him cuz he does not have KO power. Cuz he makes it up with speed, accuracy, intellegence, skills, reflexes, and defense. I just want to see Floyd test his skills against the best. And, that is one thing Floyd has not done in 6yrs.
