The Cus D'Amato style was quite distinctive. I don't see it in Pacquiao to be honest.
Roach copying Tyson's style?

Pac is nothing like Mike Tyson, dude. Even Cotto's style is closer to Tyson. Pac moves his head a lil bit but doesn't have a peek a boo stance and doesn't bob and weave.
Juan Diaz is the closest to D'amato's style.Comment

I woulda loved to see footage of Mike giving Pac some advice.I don't think he's copying, but he might be using Mike's style as a blueprint while at the same time playing to Pac's strengths of speed and foot work. Awhile back when Pac was fighting DLH, Mike came by the Wild Card Boxing Gym and gave Pac some pointers on how to fight bigger guys so maybe that's where your getting it from.Comment

Tyson was well capable of throwing straight, precise shots as well. A lot of his punches were looping, but he did have a STRAIGHT lead right that was quick as lightning.Originally posted by SnoopySmurfPac was inspired by Tyson to employ the bobbing and weaving because that's how Tyson got those looping punches in, inspite of the bigger opponent's height and longer reach. Tyson knew the angles.
Because Pacquiao is smaller, he looks like Tyson on fast forward. But Pac throws his punches straight.Comment
