He left the mw division when there were still some legit challenges and went to one of the weakest divisions in boxing in 168, especially after Benavidez got stripped. Smith, Yidilgrim, Saunders and Plant all range from mediocre/average to slightly above average. None of them are cracking any top 10 p4p lists.
I come from the era where we were watching Barrera and morales face each other 3x while Barrera also faced hamed plus pac twice, plus Marquez, with morales also facing pac 3x. Or a mix of guys like Oscar, Trinidad, Whitaker, Mosley, Vargas, Hopkins, going at it. On paper, if you look at titles won, it won’t show up as Canelo’s does but it’s significantly more impressive and it’s not even close.
You can say the same or worse and find fault with every other active fighter’s resume, then.

Since Canelo has the the best one in the sport right now.

That’s not a cherry pick. It’s a fact. Of the current champions between 154 to 168 Canelo has beaten them all except for Alimkhanuly and Tszyu (both who only became champions within the past year or so) and Jermall who turned down offers on two separate occasions. There was an empty boast once that Golovkin would fight anyone from 154 to 168…but Canelo actually did it.

I said when he fought Kovalev that he really had no business at 175. So yes, I obviously would still consider that. He belongs at cruiser even less but I applaud him considering those weight jumps. It’s ballsy.

I predicted Dmitry Bivol would be a very dangerous fight for him and have no problem admitting he lost. At least he tried. Beterbiev might retire without ever fighting Bivol which is shameful.
It's not BALLSY to drain someone twenty fking pounds for a gimme belt FFS.

And yes, it's a cherry pick. Had anyone else pulled someone up two divisons, than bragged about it....come on man

        Was what I said wrong?

Why do you feel the need to defend him against facts? Much more feminine.

It’s still ballsier than Beterbiev and Bivol not fighting each other.

Whatever makes you feel better about 11-1 and running away from the rematch, I suppose.

Beterbiev should challenge Fury at 199lbs then to "be ballsy"

Naw, but at least have the balls to get in the ring with Bivol like Canelo did.

And it wasn’t Canelo that killed the rematch.

And it's a cherry pick to say "Canelo has fought and beat every 154 champion" There's only one of them. And he fought him a couple weeks ago.....at 168 That COULD be why he's called a cherry picker and a ducker. He fought the other 160 champ over a decade ago, and ducked the rematch lol

Would you have still considered 175 "A division he doesn't belong at" If he had fought Badou at 180? Or would we have admitted that Bivol just pushed Canelo's **** in?
These canelo's groupies are unbelievable. The length they go to enhance and recruit is beyond me. Almost every belt canelo has won, has been a vacant belt, and when he fought a "champion" for their belt, they had won it in a vacant contest, so basically he only fought floyd and cotto as real champions, and I think the drunken past his prime master kovalev.

As usual you are offending a person that's expressing not only his opinion but the truth. Just to show that canelo is not as perfect as you guys trying to make him.

No, you're right. Bivol had the audacity to open his mouth, which caused Canelo to refuse to activate his rematch clause? Because I've mentioned before, theres zero need for negotiating when you can just activate your rematch clause. If Canelo wanted the fight, it would have happened.
