Comments Thread For: Fury: Joshua's Bubble Has Been Burst - Spanked By Usyk Twice, KO'd By a Fat Man

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury explains that he's not the least bit concerned when it comes to his biggest domestic rival, Anthony Joshua. Fury is back in the ring next Saturday in Saudi Arabia, when he faces former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in a non-title crossover boxing match.

Very witty and original as ever from Fury. Of course he'll fight AJ at some point, easy money.

He did, and his detractors seem the most angry about that. He put a decent run together but it was obvious he was never going to be a top 10 ATG.

Joshua knocked out standing on his feet TKO is not the same as a KO. Which is why it has the T. Fury was actually much closer to failing a ten count in the first fight against Wilder than Joshua as ever been. Some argued the ref gave him a long count. I don't subscribe to that, but clearly it's a fine margin we are talking about, so a bit silly for Fury to be so dismissive.

At the same time, the fight we want to see is Fury vs Usyk. He needs to get on with that in a hurry.

Absolutely right on Usyk. I think most of us suspect Fury will be too long, too heavy for him but he's always found an answer... It's impossible to know whether he can find an answer to Fury without seeing the fight.

But that's the issue I take with Fury here. Every active heavyweight who fights mandatories and a decent level of opposition will eventually get beaten. And if you take on your challengers then there's a chance that you'll come up against a style that is all wrong for you. If the fight goes ahead, then that might be the case for Usyk... or it might be the case for Fury. But it won't make either of them shot fighters.

I always thought Usyk was exactly that for Joshua. A terrible match up. And I respected the guy for fighting him when he could have just dropped a belt and looked for more suitable fights. He was committed to Undisputed and that meant he had to face the mandatory.

The fact that Joshua lost to Usyk means nothing in terms of how he'd do against Fury. Except if it, as it seems, has damaged his confidence. But Fury is a much better match of styles for Joshua than Usyk was.

It's a fight I think we still need to see. I'm hoping Joshua can get active and do it via mandatory so there's nowhere to run for Fury. He's not taking that fight unless he has to, regardless of what he says about Joshua being no good.

Joshua would have no fans if not for dopey UK Nationalism. “Yo check me out, I always root for Britain because I’m a Brit”. Kinda fruity
