That is the man literally responsible for Showtime boxing and that interview was from this past July when Canelo was a free agent, and turned down the offer to fight Benavidez. This is why canelo fans such as yourself aren’t respected and it’s exactly why I say you’re a fan girl and not a real boxing fan. A real boxing fan would own it and admit, he declined the offer. You have to be kidding. If he was weight drained he should had move up in weight. He looked pretty good to me in his previous fight. Then again what does Crawford have to do with canelo's, benavidez and MorrellJr?

only reason they bring up Morrell this early is because they know there's a good chance Canelo/Benavidez is next or at the latest, next September. So they already have their Morrell boogeyman lined up to claim that Canelo is ducking. Meanwhile being content that 25 going on 26 year old Morrell is only fighting once a year versus bums.

Actually, that was Spence's choice and by beating Spence he beat the guy that beat the other guys. Nothing wrong with that, who did he beat for the belts? Brook, Porter, and Ugas, I think the only one he didn't fight out of those three was Ugas, I'M talking about Crawford. I don't see your point unless you're referring to canelo who fought four domestic levels fighters for his unifying effort, fielding, smith, saunders and plant. He collected four easy, fat paychecks, I might add, for fighting risk-free fighters. What an accomplishment.

Granted Morrell is a bad mfer, but he needs to fight some of those guys in between guys who lost on Shobox & guys known as sparring partners who he's already beaten & the tip top guys at 168 he wants to fight. I'd LOVE to see a Morrell vs Mbilli fight.

Morrell’s management is trying to push him too fast, and not getting David enough fights while he matures as a fighter. I like this kid a lot; I think Morrell has a lot of upside. But his potential is in danger of being wasted by overzealous and greedy handlers. Of course the kid wants to make as much money as possible as fast as possible. Almost everyone thinks like that, especially when young. It often ends badly. Paying dues is actually good for you. Rush the process at your own peril.

Agree with you 100%. Kid is clearly a talent with sexy upside in this game, but rushing him into a tip top guy fight is a gamble that I don't think they need to take.

The problem is not the he doesn't want to fight, is who is going to sign the contract and fight.

And yet he's rated 4 stars with only 9 fights. I wonder how many stars did benavidez had in his resume on his first 9 fights. I don't think I can see it on my phone.
