Saw this. Damn shame. I did also see that NBC/Pea**** was picking up some fights.

Sad to see ShoBox go. Those little cards with prospects were sometimes really fun to watch.

Dude this makes absolutely no sense. It’s the low hanging fruit analysis that doesn’t line up with the facts.

The fact is boxing, like horse racing and baseball, just doesn’t occupy the same space it did in the sports landscape.

PBC does nothing with the Olympics. Boxing used to be one of the primary events in the Olympics. It isn’t anymore.

Boxing used to be a staple of network TV long before PBC was created. They left it.

ESPN has boxing but puts most of the fights in ESPN+ and PPV.

Good. They can go back on regular network tv and start building an audience again. Boxing killed itself when most of the upcoming fighters and elite fighters went on Showtime and HBO exclusively, thus limiting their outreach to sports fans and future participants of the sport.

Baseball is the number 2 sport in the US still, in terms of participation and overall revenue generated. It might be not the National Pastime it once was but still doing well. It's not a niche sport like boxing and horse racing to lump it in there.

The sport’s inability to market and promote its stars and appeal to advertisers was a slow fade to this. Problem has been clear for decades. Sport is not in the main****** conversation enough. Pathetic at a time when there are like 5 major ******ing services in a race for new content.

Boxing has been dying for years. Best don't fight the best, it is all cherrypicking. Fighters looking for easiest paydays instead of testing themselves. Throw in the deaths from fight damage, the complete lack of commonality due to ******ing and the internet, all the big networks now dropped the sport.

Boxing has been niche for awhile now. Within a few years the sport will become less and less viable and in twenty years all of us "last generation"of boxing fans will left with only memories.

Growing up for me it was all about HBO and Showtime on premium cable and PPV events. Now we will only get ESPN, FOX & DAZN in North America as Sky Sports and TNT Sports Boxing does not air.
