Yeah I mean Andrade totally hasn’t been waiting an entire decade just chasing paydays and avoiding legitimate competition.

Andrade has ducked basically everybody, and has fought nobody. Despite having won the WBO 154, WBA secondary 154, and WBO 160, he has YET to fight a single actual world champion, former or not. Not even a secondary titlist. Jack Culcay with his WBA interim is the closest he's come to a champion, and he only won that on a split. He won his first WBO title on a split against Vanes Martirosyan. He claimed he was wanting to fight Lara, but pulled out for the aforementioned Culcay fight saying he'd only fight Lara "as a last resort." He won his last title against unheralded fighter Walter Kautondokwa, and even hit him while he was down in that fight, which was ignored by the ref. He then proceeded to fight nothing but weak mandatories until Janibek became his mandatory, and then immediately fled to 168, vacating his belt. Why are people impressed with this guy?

Both Andrade and Benavidez have made some poor career choices but it’s laughable when Canelo fans try to say things like, if Andrade fought Parker he would’ve landed the Canelo fight. Or if Benavidez didn’t get stripped for missing weight, Canelo would’ve fought him. That’s all nonsense. Andrade had the only title Canelo needed at mw to unify and Canelo had no interest. Andrade was slated to face Saunders when Saunders got caught cheating yet Saunders landed a Canelo fight and Andrade didn’t. Canelo petitioned the wbc for the title Benavidez was stripped of 2 days after he was stripped yet never asked for a title shot while he was champ. Benavidez has had mandatory status for a while now, yet Canelo chose a jmw instead. So yes, they’ve made bad choices but either way, Canelo has shown he’s not interested in fighting either.greeneye99 likes this.
