I know he’s young and still a prospect but I just don’t see it in Davis. Just my opinion……….

Him and Haney share the same thing in common being huge for 135. They'll both look better at 140. That's probably why Davis is throwing Pedraza's name around knowing he's a 140 pounder. Plus he'll be 25 years old soon I don't think he'll be able to make 135 much longer.

Davis didn’t look too impressive last night but the commentary was hyping him like he was a p4p great. I’m only exaggerating a little but beating Woo Albright doesn’t deserve that much praise.

I thought that he was going to fight him at 140, but wait a minute you've got a point there. Because he didn't mention anything about fighting him at the 140 pound weight division.
Putting on an extra 5 pounds would probably make him even more of a formidable fighter. I really don't believe that Pedraza would be foolish enough to move down to the 135 pound weight division just for a payday.
So again if this fight is made, I hope that Jose Pedraza lives up to his ring moniker of the sniper, and picks off Keyshawn Davis from a distance.

Why not Avenge you lost to your daddy Andy Cruz? Like some many greats before him that lost as amateurs and avenge those losses as pros.

I just read somewhere that Pedraza is willing to come down to 135 to fight K. Davis, and Jose is going to get his head handed to him by Davis.

Subriel Matias will defend his IBF junior welterweight title against Shohjahon Ergashev on Nov. 25 in Las Vegas on the David Benavidez-Demetrius Andrade PPV undercard, sources told ESPN on Friday.

Matias, one of the sport's most-reliable action fighters, won the vacant 140-pound title in February with a fifth-round TKO of Jeremias Ponce.

Matias (19-1, 19 KOs) avenged his lone career defeat with a ninth-round stoppage of Petros Ananyan in his previous fight. The 31-year-old Puerto Rican is ESPN's No. 6 junior welterweight.

Ergashev (23-0, 20 KOs) has never faced a top fighter, but he figures to present the toughest challenge of Matias' career. The 31-year-old Uzbek is a dangerous southpaw puncher who will look to neutralize the volume-punching output of Matias.

"It's been very difficult to line up big names for him to fight," Ergashev's promoter, Dmitry Salita, told ESPN in August. "And we knew the only way to get him on the elite level was to get him in the mandatory position. About six months ago when he was rated No. 3, we went through the list of ranked fighters two times and no one wanted to fight him."

TGB Promotions, the promoter of PBC fights, won the rights to the fight at an August purse bid with a commitment of $510,000. Matias is entitled to 70% ($357,000) while Ergashev is set to earn $153,000.

Yes I heard the announcement that Matias is making his first title defense against Ergashev, on 11-25-23, talk about Thanksgiving.
I was elated, to see that these two avoided fighters were fighting their best opponent to date, and that would be each other.
Now you know I'm rolling with my boy 'El Orgullo de Maternillo", none other than Subriel (If you get in the ring with me I'm going to break your face) Matias!
I know I got a bit carried away with the way I announced my pick to win this particular fight, but the powers that be have held this fighters career for a while now.
If he's able to defeat Ergashev, in what should be a fight to remember, his career should take off like a rocket ship, and in his short career he'll have earned it the hard way.
I just hope that all those punches that he catches during his fights don't catch up to him leaving him permanently damaged due to his profession.
I've seen what's happened to Wilfredo Gomez, and Wilfred Benitez, two of our all time great's, and similar to Mohamed Ali illness caused by trauma to the head, it is heartbreaking sight to see.
That said I'm looking forward to Matias vs Ergashev, and some boxing have already stated that this is should be the main event, instead of the co-main event to Benvidez vs Andrade!

By the way thanks for the boxing link that you sent me, along with your post, we don't always agree with each others point of view, but I respect your knowledge of the sport, and your professional commentary about the boxing world.

One more point I almost forgot, I'm not completely sold on Keyshawn Davis, I've seen him get caught real good in a few of his fights.
A fighter with a bit more TNT in his punches might've knocked him on those few occasion's, but props for his ability to recuperate quickly.

That's par for course with ESPN commentary. I remember when they tried to convince the viewers that Navarrete/Valdez was some shootout when it was really just a beatdown. They immediately started talking rematch of that "classic".

As for Keyshawn, I wasn't terribly impressed (and I haven't been impressed overall either). Albright is a decent, tricky fighter but there are levels and I would have liked to see Davis show me more. Maybe it's not there, I guess we will ultimately find out.

Pedraza is a bit shopworn but I wouldn't mind the matchup at 140. If Davis doesn't bring his best, perhaps Sniper still has enough left to pull an upset.
