He should have made it a war and tried to back the aussie up, he have a granite chin too.
Mendoza tried to come forward and make it a war. Tszyu had great defense and head movement and he was landing big shots that Mendoza did not want to get hit with. He couldn't do anything with Tszyu because Tim is a lot better boxer and fighter. Mendoza has power and fast hands, but his defense has never been great and he relies on his power to bail him out.

Mendoza had the KO of the year for me against Fundora. Styles make fights and Tyszu is the best at 154.

Sometimes what u describe as a " very basic fighter " might be true. But I've seen extremely skilled fighters lose many fights. Why ? No engine. No heart . No bal ls , no desire, no pride. Its not always about x's and o's in boxing . Alot of times its about guts and courage . Take that along with some basic skills and champions are made. Tim has the bloodlines, loves to fight and has some decent skills. Thats why he's a Champ. He'll mop up on Charlo.

Yeah Bud would beat Tim. But it would be fun to see. Bud's my favorite active fighter. Nobody at 147 or 154 beats Bud. And Bud competes with and very possibly outboxes Canelo. Bud is a throwback with all timer skill and ring IQ. Charlo is mostly hot air.
Charlie is certainly no ATG, but unless he's fallen off the table badly, I don't see him losing to a fighter as methodical and basic as Tim. I give him props for surviving Mendoza, but Jermell is more athletic and explosive than Brian.

He definitely was the best man last night, time will tell if he is the best 154 pounder, one thing for sure, he ain't protecting his record, credit where credit is do, no controversy vs a good opponent. Congratulations Tim.

I don't know about mopping the floor with charlo, and anyone can see what I see, not a critique, he has will and desire and is dedicated, what I'm saying still the truth, if you get another fighter with the same will, desire and more talent, odds are he would be the victor. Of course the fight have to happen. Cong**** to the aussie.

            • Mendoza showed an iron chin. Fun fight. I hope we get Charlo vs Tszyu in the next 4 months. Put together a good undercard and take my money.

At this point Crawford would almost certainly be to good for Tszyu. As for Charlo...has he fallen badly? It's impossible to tell because he appears to have taken up marathon running instead of boxing in the last couple of years...

                • Wow! Yes! That was an entertaining fight. Mendoza is very tough. Great win for Tszyu and congratulations to him on defending the Super Welterweight WBO Title!

How has Charlo "fallen badly"? Because he lost to canelo is that you're way of trying to discredit canelo aswell because before the fight Charlo was the best at 54 and many expected him to beat canelo sooo....now that he lost he must have "fallen badly" lol

He hasn't he just lost to a greater fighter it happens. What do you think would happen to Tszyu if he moved up to face canelo? Trust me he wouldn't last 12 and I like tszyu but he would get mauled badly and brutally.

ya gotta stop with this bashing Charlo just to discredit canelo. Mark my words Charlo still beats anyone at 154.

Agreed. Not everybody watching is a fan of the sport tho. Many just seem to want a hero in their mind to look up to.
