Media, posters, social media users etc.. call everyone slick and that's casual behavior.
Slick means using head movement and upper body movement during defense in a "flashy way". You gotta make your opponent miss by showing him fool. You can be flat footed or fleet footed, that's not that important.
- Bivol ain't slick because his defensive arsenal is footwork and high guard.
- Lara and Andrade ain't slick because they're running marathon in the ring. Not intense head movement.
- Mike Tyson, Chavez and Qawi ain't slick because their head movement is for attacking and they ain't flashy. More like effective.
- Winky Wright ain't slick because his defense is high guard.
- Crawford ain't slick. He is a bit athletic with some footwork and high guard.
Who are slick then? Toney, Canelo, Mayweather, Whitaker, BJS, Plant, Locche, Benitez, Fury etc..
Slickness is the most wrongly used term in the boxing. Only a group of fighter have that.
