Unfortunately for Inoue, he can only defeat the best guys the weight class can provide to him.

I'm looking forward to 2025 when Inoue starts his time at featherweights, that is where I think Inoue will be getting what is considered his best bouts in his career when all is said and done.

Also, the Dec 26 was rumored by multiple sources last week so it is not exactly news...the venue and price is what I want to know dangit.

Inoue's hometown Yokohama Arena 17k capacity, where Butler/Fulton fight was at Ariake Arena 15k, or given the size Saitama Super Arena 22k? Heck, outside chance of Tokyo Dome 45k capacity?

It is a matter of opinion.

But those are the kinds of things one would have to look at to have an educated opinion I would say.

No.. Tapales isn't a P4P fighter or even a top 100 fighter in the world. Gonna need a lot more to knock Bud off that #1

Agree. The only ones that have a chance of being #1 the winner of Canelo vs Benavidez, Tyson vs Usyk, or Shakur vs Tank, maybe en Bivol vs Beterbiev.

you would think that top rank would start promoting Inoue to the US fanbase by staging his fights here...

Canelo turned down a 50 million offer to fight Benavidez this year and last year he said he would never fight a Mexican fighter again - Benavidez beating Canelo does not make him #1. Tyson vs Uysk? There's a high chance Fury wins and if he does - most lists don't have HW's on them, so unless Uysk pulls off a miracle.. still no. Shakur vs Tank not happening anytime soon. Bivol vs Berbetiev.. blocked by the WBC & Arum...even so, winner would be #4 or #5, still behind Bud, Inoue.. maybe #3 if Uysk loses.

Hell yeah, nice way to finish the year. No ducks in the lower weight classes.

And major props to Inoue, in only his 2nd fight in his new division and he's already going for undisputed, incredible.
