Is Arthur Abraham unproven on an elite level?

AA has beaten what the middleweight division has had to offer, which isn't a lot. He has beaten a lot of worldranked opponents and done so with often with devastating highlightreel KO's.

Notable names include Gevor, Eastman, Ayala, Marquez and Miranda. The undefeated Miranda was ruined by AA and the leftovers eaten by Pavlik and later Ward.
That being said Taylor is the biggest name for him yet.

That right there is crazy. AA didn't ruin Miranda, Pavlik did. Back when Miranda lost that close decision to AA in Germany Miranda ranked up 2 big wins both on HBO, a one round destruction of Willie Gibbs and a lopsided decision over Allan Green. After that he fought Pavlik, in the Pavlik fight he wasn't done, hge slugged it out with the KO artist Pavlik until he couldn't hold it anymore. After 2 more fights he fought AA and he wasn't the same anymore. His chin could take anymore of AA's shot while he was able to withstand 6 rounds of hard right hands by Pavlik.

Like it or not Abraham is the real deal and has proven it i believe. He certainly should beat Taylor because of the Stamina issue if it stil;l exists. Gonna be an interesting fight but if I had to pick I'd bet on Abraham stopping Taylor late or getting the decision.

Not against elite fighters, and that is what I made this one about. If one fighter is just slightly better than his comp he can look great. He looks great because he is without a doubt better than contender level fighters. Elite fighters???.....idk yet

Gevor is better then anybody JT has beat(legit win Hopkins won both fights)

in defense of Arthur, the only elite guys he could've fought (Pavlik and Sturm) didn't want to fight him... I guess he could've built a legacy on beating blown up welterweights like a lot of other middleweights have in the past

Plus, he did beat Gevor and Miranda, who were ranked fighters.

AA is good but untested. This one I agree. IMO, if he turns out to be great, JT is in a world of trouble as he is falling out in the late rounds in his his last few fights. This is not good if you want to continue fighting on the top level. AA, I think is more rated due to his potential ... the rest, I agree with your assessment. But I like his style and rooting for him. Hopefully this tourney would be a coming out party for him. And I do hope he KOs Froch. hehehe

Yeah, I agree that he is somewhat untested. A great example of what AA has to offer is evident in his last fight. The guy was quicker and at first sight, sharper than AA. The guy won the first couple of rounds by being active and AA blocked a majority of the punches (almost all in fact). Once he felt the urgency of the matter, he started to open up a bit. He dropped the guy 3 times and he had not lost in over 15 fights I think and dropped once in his career or something like that. AA has power and that is his best weapon; if Taylor gets caught, he is gonna be in trouble.

The only reason Taylor could lose is due to his shoddy stamina. If he can overcome that one problem for this fight he can easily win it. The other factor is that Abraham doesn't actually put a lot of pressure on his opponents either which he will need to do to make that stamina problem come into play for him.

If he sits back as he does in many fights and waits on his opponent who could out-box from from a distance it could very well end up a definite win for Taylor. That said, Taylor's stamina is really shocking. If you re-watch the fight with Froch there wasn't that much pressure or volume in that fight and he still gassed. He should have been able to last in that fight. That's the only reason this fight is a toss-up for me.

We shall at least see how good Abraham can stack up to a very good, if somewhat ruined, fighter in Taylor for once though.

I agree with most of what you said, toss up fight because of Jermain's stamina. But no, I reckon Jermain's got a bit left in the tank, I have a feeling he may get up for this super six tourny and show us he has it in him to be a great fighter. Really the guys resume is ridiculous, Hopkins x2, Winky, Pavlik x2, Ouma, Spinks....

i think he's actually going to be one of the last guys standing, and when he finishes Taylor, that's when everyone who doubts him will become a fan.
