In a brawl like that, cuts happen, and Lewis' skill ensured he widened the cut enough for a TKO. Vitali usually has an iron chin and is difficult to stop, and both boxers were huffing and puffing in their corners. I don't know if Lennox had the stamina to last for another 6 rounds. So it was a mixture of SKILL and LUCK that the rounds 5+6 unfolded like they did.

Still, a very legit win for him, and probably one of the fights, which paved his way to the status of ATG.

If Vitali had more than 14 days to prepare for a championship fight as well, I'd say that he'd KO Lewis in 10.

In Lewis's prime it would have been completely different. He knew he didn't have the stamina to last 12 rounds and when the cut opened Lewis focused on opening it and getting the fight stopped.

In his prime he would be more cautious, it goes the distance and Lewis wins an 8-4 type of decision.

Probably the same thing, Lewis wasn't renouned for knocking guys out, and vitali has a solid chin, so either the same outcome or Lewis on points. No way in hell, in a million years does Vitalia or any of the heavys beat Lewis!! Never.

Rahman got lucky and Lewis was a little past prime in that fight. 1996-1999/2000 was Lewis prime.

Tyson lost to douglas, does that mean he would of lost to every heavyweight better then douglas?

Anyway, Prime lewis would of won, it would of been much different then the lewis we saw against vitli

Prime Lewis was the one that found Holyfield and Grant.

On topic, either a wide UD or a stoppage.

Lewis was set up to fight Kirk Johnson, hardly the stuff of legends.

Lewis beats Vitali prime for prime everytime they get in the ring.
