Minus the two robberies against Canelo, he had a respectable and very lucrative career.

sometimes being robbed sucks on the way to the top. Castillo getting robbed vs Mayweather. or Pac getting robbed against Horn. no positive side there.
sometimes being robbed makes you looked at more fondly historically and wins you the love of the people.
Mayweather may be undefeated, but he's not loved.
Pac got robbed a few times. Pac is loved.
However, Pac's career had too many KTFO moments. also lost to too many different guys.
GGG has only ever lost to 1 other guy when he was 40. Who was a P4P great. When GGG was 36, vast majority saw him win. still out of his prime.
Yet and still never KD and never down. A Man's man till the end. 200 mil career. A nation's hero. Basically as good as it gets.

- Lost to former 140 lber much smaller Canelo twice. Never forget Canelo didn't fight at 160 before him and was one legged in the rematch.
- Tried to rob Canelo with BS 7-5 cards in trilogy.
- Got exposed and outboxed by WW Brook.
- Best real win is Lemieux who is Benavidez toyed.
- Overrated power and zero resume.
If you're an idiot, you gotta want his career. No doubt.NYG likes this.

So, while his career was great, I'd say no.
Most people saw him win. It's one of those things where if someone brings up Canelo's victories over GGG, people will instantly say GGG won. like Chavez vs Whitaker. the official decision doesn't even matter.
then managed to get 2 more fights. He got blessed by the biggest draw of boxing 3X. that series generated more than 100 million for him. Due to his performance with Canelo, he got another 100 mil contract with DAZN where they were paying him 15 mil to fight guys like Martirozyan and Ryota.

if he didn't get robbed he could have Bivol's career right now. get frozen out till the end of his run.
then one day he might get 1 punched by some American prospect and disappear into obscurity.Last edited by HeadShots; 10-18-2023, 06:30 PM.

a lot more bums went to decision with Hagler and Monzon.
GGG's power is real. he didn't get to fight Canelo until he was 36. Hagler had been retired 4 yrs already at that age.

The bums Hagler and Monzon fought > The bums GGG fought.
Their bums would have the exact same W/L record as GGG
GGG's string of CONSECUTIVE BUMS FOUGHT IN A SINGLE CAREER is one record that will never be broken.
GGG didn't have to stay a professional AMATEUR for so long, did he ?!?!?
Nelo was a pro at 15.
What was GGG doing at 15 ?!?!?!?
