because the champ beat the challenger in convincing enough fasion that even the challenger admitted to the beating...

So the young champion kept it moving forward like he was supposed 2

It's not like Cotto has taken it easy since he fought Mosley...

Margarito and Clottey are bigger younger(then Mosley) and where both champions before they fought Cotto...They both got stripped...not Cotto's problem....

Cotto has taken the road less traveled on his way to the top and has even faltered once already...Cotto fights tough champions like Mosley and wins...for the most part.

and Cotto never ducked Mosley...They didn't agree on venue...and even recently it was Mosley calling a Cotto rematch old hat and a step back....

true, margo and clottey ain't no walk in the park... but mosley/cotto wasn't convincing. cotto got a decision in MSG... ok, so now make the fight outside of MSG and lets see what happens.

          I wouldn't mind a rematch...

          but thats not the point.

          Does Mosley deserve a rematch?

To me if a champion beats a challenger ....there is no need for a rematch...i had Cotto up by 2 rounds and most people that arent rabid Shane Mosley fans...and even some that are will agree that Mosley lost that fight.

**** even Shane Mosley admitted to it after the fight...even contemplating hanging up the gloves...doesnt get more convincing then that.

I can be completely justified in saying NO Shane doesnt deserve a rematch...he challenged the Champion and came up short...If he was the champion I would say of course he needs a rematch but that wasn't the case...

I would like to see a Cotto Mosley rematch to establish lineage at WW of course but it seem Mosley is the 1 that really doesn't see Cotto as a viable opponent as of late.

it was a close fight in MSG... there were fights that weren't as close as mosley/cotto where there was a rematch... that means the rematch is warranted.

shane was just being nice. he knew it was a close fight and he knew he couldn't get the decision in MSg.

champion? wasn't that a vacated belt? c'mon man.

I was close to front row at this fight and Cotto got a gift IMO
              Hence no rematch.

The millions of PR's screaming like pop fans may have also helped.

Almost got into a fight with some loser behind be who kept on chanting " Fried chicken Mosely"

Me and another guy kept wondering how these guys got a seat there

This would never end, this is like DLH vs Quartey, Oscar won a close fight and some people call it a robbery, the same thing here, Cotto won a very close fight.

It was a close fight but a clear victor was established and it was the defending champion.

How could you possibly interpret what is going on inside the mind of a man that was just in a 12 round championship fight? Was it his facial expression or do you just feel like you know Shane really really well and maybe if he would answer your letters...just maybe you guys could rent an apartment together...then take your shirts off and hang out like bros

Champion none the less....unless you want to go back in history and discredit every champion who has ever won a vacated belt in boxing.

Wait cause only Miguel Cotto fights for vacant titles...i remember now.

You besmirch my reputation as a man of integrity and fair dealings...you should remember yourself Sir.

Mosley has been quoted and been filmed stating that a fight with Miguel Cotto at this point in his career would be a step backward for him...

I hope I am vindicated in the eyes of my fellow amatuer boxing scribes.

It would have ended if Shane got a rematch

Like when Floyd got a close decision
